Dance

I have never taken pictures at our dance fellowship before, so I thought I would! This was a nice size group and about all this particular facility can hold! We had a great time this particular evening, learning a new dance. We also had one very new dancer with us, so we were able to teach her some beginning steps. It is always fun having new people and getting to share with them. It has truly been a blessing to be apart of this ministry and it still amazes me at what good things God has brought through it.

Hiking

Today was a wonderful day for hiking! We had originally planned to head down to Meadowdale, but it was too crowded, so we headed back up our direction and went to Lord Hill instead. We covered about 5 miles in 2 1/2 hours. We saw so much beautiful scenery, but the best was when we hiked up to the lookout point and could see for miles. It was incredibly beautiful. We sat up there for a bit and had a snack enjoying God's awesome creation.Oh, and second to that was when a deer was in our path...if you look close in the picture that shows the back of Atira's head, you might see him. We also had the joy of a snake and a cool looking red winged bug. As well as several beautiful blue butterflies. It was a wonderfully fun day...however we are now thinking we should probably invest in hiking boots...our feet were tired sore and muddy.

This field trip really stunk

Here we are, happy little homeschool family, visiting the water treatment plant. Fun. Enlightening. Stinky. We saw the very interesting lab where they test the poopy water, checking it half way through the process of becoming clean water. It sits in a nice little jar with a layer of well...you know, at the bottom of it. I can tell it's still not clean just by looking at it, however they must run very intricate tests, just to make sure. I am thinking sniff it! Cheap, quick, easy and just about anybody can do it! Ah well, I do not have a degree in this field, so what do I know? We then saw the conveyer belt that sits atop the buidling where the um, stuff gets further processed. What is the conveyer belt for? All the muck that did not dissolve in the water as it traveled there. So yeah, there are ALL KINDS of things that are on that belt. I felt this would be a good place to install a barf bag dispenser for those of us that are just taking the tour. We are not accustomed to looking at all those things that could still be identified (once they have left our toilet)  not to mention the additional stench that came from that particular area. I also learned another valuable lesson. Hair does not dissolve when you flush it down the toilet and the guys that work there do not appreciate you putting it down there. It must all be collected and removed before the water can finish it's journey. Thankfully today, they have a big machine that catches these hair balls, creating much bigger hair balls which we also had the awesome privelege of viewing. It certainly takes a special person to do this job and I am so thankful they are there.

GO Mariners!

What a blessing this night was! We were given tickets to see the Mariners play and what tickets they were! That top shot is taken from our seats without the use of the closeup feature! WE WERE REALLY CLOSE TO THE FIELD! We had a few yummy snacks, watched the game, taught the kids about it, took a hike around the stadium, visited the bullpen, where the kids were given gum from the pitching coach. In the end the Mariners lost, but it was a close game and a really wonderful memory.

WE WON!

Jeepers. Finally after many games of the "Scorpion" that Grandma Barbara taught us, we finally won! I had to take a picture just so we could remember this amazing moment! What a super fun game of solitaire, thanks for teaching us!

Rosh Chodesh

Isaiah 66:23 "And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from sabbath to sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down before Me," says the LORD.
Psalm 81:3 3 "Sound the ram's horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our Feast"

This was a beautiful night and our second time we as a family have been able to view the crescent new moon marking the new month on God's calendar. It was a fun evening and we are so thankful the night was clear enough to see! (living here, most evenings are pretty cloudy!)
